Role Overview
We are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Data Analyst Intern to join our team. You
will be deep in the syntax of R to strengthen the district’s data infrastructure and
transform messy raw data into actionable insights. You’ll work closely with senior
analysts to clean complex datasets, design research frameworks, and perform statistical
analysis necessary to inform our educational decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Wrangling: Clean, reshape, and merge disparate datasets using R.
- Research Design: Assist in defining research questions, identifying variables, and ensuring robust methodology for internal studies.
- Statistical Analysis: Execute descriptive statistics to summarize trends and perform inferential tests (T-tests, ANOVA, Regression) to test hypotheses.
- Visualization: Create clear, reproducible reports and interactive data visualizations using rmarkdown, plotly, and leaflet or similar packages.
- Automation: Develop R scripts that streamline recurring data collection and cleaning processes.
Qualifications Skills
- Proficiency in R: You should be comfortable writing clean, documented code and using RStudio.
- Statistical Grounding: Strong understanding of p-values, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing.
- Data Literacy: Ability to handle missing data, outliers, and data normalization techniques.
- Research Background: Experience (academic or professional) in experimental or quasi-experimental research design.
- Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a master’s or doctoral degree in Educational Research, Sociology, Psychology, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
