- Greet guests warmly, provide menus, and answer questions about food and beverage options with enthusiasm.
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring all special requests are noted.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales, utilizing knowledge of the menu and current promotions.
- Manage guest relations by addressing concerns promptly, ensuring a positive dining experience from start to finish.
- Clear tables efficiently, bussing dishes and resetting tables for new guests while adhering to sanitation standards.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, process payments via POS systems, and provide correct change or receipts.
- Assist in food preparation or kitchen support as needed, maintaining food safety and sanitation protocols.
- Support openTable reservations management to optimize seating arrangements during busy hours.
- Maintain a clean work environment in compliance with health regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, particularly in fine dining or nightlife settings such as nightclubs.
- Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, and cashiering procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and professionally.
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods.
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest satisfaction and sales performance.
- Familiarity with food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling, billing, and transaction processing.
- Previous experience with host/hostess duties or serving roles is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of reservation platforms like OpenTable is a plus.
