South Auburn Veterinary Hospital is a well-established, fast-paced small animal practice in Auburn, CA. We are a collaborative medical team committed to high-quality patient care, excellent client service, and a respectful, team-oriented culture.
We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician who wants to fully utilize their skills, contribute meaningfully to patient care, and grow with a stable, professionally managed hospital.
Position Overview
Our Veterinary Technicians are essential members of the medical team. We practice collaborative medicine and value technicians who take ownership of patient care, communicate clearly and confidently, and contribute thoughtfully to case management. We are seeking professionals with a strong work ethic who are committed to practicing at the highest level of their skills. Our technicians are expected to model compassionate, professional communication with both clients and colleagues. We are looking for team members who not only work well within a team, but who actively help strengthen it.
Responsibilities include:
- Inpatient care and nursing
- Surgical anesthesia monitoring
- Radiology
- Laboratory sample collection and diagnostics
- Client communication and education
- Assisting doctors in exam rooms
- Cleaning, laundry and upkeep.
The technician reports directly to the Practice Manager and works closely with Associate Veterinarians.
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
We are open Monday - Saturday 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
- 32–40 hours per week
- Occasional weekend shifts
- Possible intermittent overtime
- 8 hour shifts
Work Environment
This is a fast-paced medical environment with frequent interaction with clients and patients. Candidates must be comfortable working with sick, injured, or occasionally fractious animals. Noise levels may range from moderate to high.
Physical requirements include:
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Bending, kneeling, crouching
- Lifting 35–40 lbs unassisted
- Lifting over 100 lbs with assistance
