Job Summary:
The College and Career Coach position is a full-time, 12-month, grant funded position located within the El Dorado High School. This position will report to the Director of Career Services at SouthArk and will work collaboratively with the El Dorado School District in providing college and career guidance to students in the middle and high schools. The Arkansas Career Coach program provides assistance and information for resources in the areas of: academic tutoring, career counseling, college preparation and admission, financial aid guidance, mentoring, and other supports necessary for postsecondary education/training access, retention, and success. This position is governed by state and federal laws and institution policy.
Salary: Annual salary of $50,000. Plus, excellent benefit package.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
May include but are not limited to the following:
· Meeting the objectives set forth by the Arkansas College and Career Coach Program
· Providing early outreach to students and their parents with information about the importance of postsecondary education, as well as accurate information on how to prepare, apply, and pay for it.
· Providing interest inventories and skills assessments to assist individuals in making informed career decisions
· Providing information on careers, career pathways, and educational requirements
· Connecting high school students to early college programs, advanced placement classes, and academic and career and technical education (CTE) and concurrent-credit enrollment
· Providing a continuum of career guidance to ease the transition of students from middle school to high school to postsecondary education or training and ultimately to the workplace
· Maintaining accurate daily records on all services and programs provided to students
· Providing a calendar of upcoming events and activities to college and school administrators including changes to schedule and calendars
· Working with business/industry partners to identify career opportunities within the state and region
· Traveling to state meetings, workshops, and college updates hosted throughout the state
· Submitting monthly and yearly reports as required

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in education, administration, counseling, social work or related field. Candidate must have a Facilitating Career Development (FCD) Credential. If the desired individual does not hold a CDF credential, they may be considered on the basis of obtaining the credential within a year of employment.

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting; with occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
