Sourdough Montessori is seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our educational team, beginning in January 2026. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childcare and special education, with experience working with children 3-6 years old. This role is essential in supporting the lead teacher in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment that fosters childhood development and literacy education.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and curriculum development tailored to preschool-aged children.
- Support children’s learning by facilitating activities that promote cognitive, emotional, and social development.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to ensure a collaborative approach to education.
- Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to the lead teacher regarding individual needs and achievements.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of special education practices.
Requirements
