Title: Test Engineer (Contract)
Pay Rate: Up to $87.40/hour (W-2)
Duration: Ongoing
Schedule: Full-time, onsite
About the Role: Seeking a highly motivated Test Engineer to develop and deploy manufacturing test solutions for the electronic platforms powering next-generation autonomous vehicles. This role will focus on testing critical hardware components including custom PCIe devices, networking systems, and other PC-based electronic components used within advanced vehicle architectures. You will work closely with electrical engineering, software engineering, and manufacturing teams to support prototype bring-up, validation, and scalable manufacturing test processes across multiple production stages.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, build, and release manufacturing test solutions for early hardware bring-up activities
- Design and implement test coverage across all manufacturing phases including PCBA, Module, System, Vehicle-level testing
- Support prototype validation and troubleshooting activities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, software, and manufacturing engineering teams
- Improve test execution efficiency, runtime, and manufacturing yield
- Establish and maintain best practices for automated testing and validation processes
- Debug hardware and software failures using Linux command-line tools and diagnostic methods
- Support new product introduction (NPI) testing and validation efforts
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related technical field
- 6-8 years of industry experience in test engineering, validation, or systems testing
- Strong hands-on experience troubleshooting and debugging complex hardware/software systems
- Experience testing electronic assemblies and manufacturing systems
- Strong Python and Bash scripting skills
- Advanced Git proficiency including branching and merging, conflict resolution, workflow management, history manipulation
- Experience working within Linux environments and using command-line debugging tools such as ssh, lshw
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and deadlines independently
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with NPI (New Product Introduction) testing and validation
- Familiarity with custom PCIe devices, networking hardware, or PC components
- Experience with C development
- Background in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or embedded systems environments
