Full-Time Patient Care Coordinator / Audiology Aide (Will Train)

Sounds of Life Hearing Center, LLC
Painesville, OH Full Time
POSTED ON 10/12/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/10/2026

Do you enjoy helping people, keeping details organized, and figuring out how things work?

Sounds of Life Hearing Center is hiring a Patient Care Coordinator / Audiology Aide to combine welcoming patient service with detailed, hands-on hearing device support.

You’ll help patients navigate appointments, keep information and follow-up organized, and learn to maintain and troubleshoot hearing devices. Both sides of this position matter: we’re looking for someone who enjoys working with people and completing careful, practical tasks.

No previous hearing aid experience or audiology aide license is required to apply. We provide paid training and cover required Ohio audiology aide licensing fees.

About Sounds of Life

We are an independent audiology practice serving Northeast Ohio since 2018.

We provide personalized, compassionate hearing and tinnitus care that helps patients improve their quality of life.

Our values include evidence-based care, attention to the whole patient, equitable service, community involvement, integrity, and team growth and accountability. Our audiologists do not earn sales commissions, and patient well-being guides our recommendations.

We support our employees’ learning and growth, and we expect clear communication, respectful teamwork, and ownership of assigned work.

Life Sounds Better Here.

What you’ll do

Once trained, the split is about 50% patient care coordination and 50% audiology aide support. The balance varies with the clinic schedule.

Patient care coordination

  • Welcome patients and assist with check-in and check-out.
  • Answer calls and messages and schedule appointments.
  • Verify insurance information and flag questions or discrepancies.
  • Collect payments and explain office policies.
  • Maintain accurate patient information and documentation.
  • Arrange follow-up appointments and assist with recall outreach.
  • Track outstanding requests and communicate next steps.
  • Work closely with our Senior Patient Care Coordinator to keep daily workflows organized.

Audiology aide support

After required training, licensure, and approval of assigned duties, work under the supervision of a licensed audiologist to:

  • Clean and check hearing devices and replace maintenance components.
  • Follow established troubleshooting procedures and assist with phone and accessory connections.
  • Coordinate repairs and track them through completion.
  • Receive and organize device orders, parts, and supplies.
  • Prepare rooms and maintain clean, organized work areas.
  • Document completed tasks and promptly bring concerns to the supervising audiologist.

Clinical assessments, treatment decisions, and hearing aid programming remain the audiologists’ responsibility.

Who will thrive here

You don’t need to know audiology already. You do need to bring:

  • Warmth and patience: help people feel respected, including when they are frustrated, confused, or having difficulty hearing.
  • Attention to detail: check names, dates, device information, payments, and instructions.
  • Follow-through: track unfinished work, communicate updates, and complete the next step.
  • Curiosity: enjoy learning technology and working with small components.
  • Coachability: ask questions, accept feedback, and apply what you learn.
  • Teamwork: contribute willingly to both front-desk and device-support work.
  • Reliability: meet commitments and communicate promptly when problems arise.

Some parts of the day are busy and varied. Others require patience with routine procedures, documentation, and follow-up. You should be comfortable with both.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of customer-facing experience in healthcare, retail, hospitality, or a similar setting.
  • Comfort learning computer systems and using them accurately.
  • Ability to perform detailed tasks with small device components, with reasonable accommodation.
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain Ohio audiology aide licensure. The Ohio Speech and Hearing Professionals Board requires a BCI/FBI criminal records check for licensure, and certain convictions are disqualifying.

Medical office, scheduling, insurance verification, inventory, or device troubleshooting experience is helpful but not required. Spanish or American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus.

Schedule and benefits

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday daytime; no nights or weekends.
  • $18–$20 per hour, based on experience.
  • Paid job training and required audiology aide licensing fees.
  • 80 hours of PTO per year to start, usable after the 90-day orientation period; increases with years of service.
  • Five paid sick days per year after 30 days.
  • Eight paid holidays plus a floating holiday.
  • 401(k) with employer match up to 4% of pay.
  • Up to $250 per month toward health insurance premiums or medical expenses (QSEHRA) for eligible participants.
  • Scrub allowance.
  • Preferred pricing on hearing services for you and your immediate family.
  • Opportunities for approved humanitarian work support, potentially including paid time and financial assistance.

Benefits are subject to eligibility, current practice policies, and plan terms.

Humanitarian support is subject to approval and owner discretion.
