Location: In-Office (Spanaway, WA)
Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000 Base Salary (Transition to Commission after 1 year)
Benefits: 100% Employer-Paid Private Healthcare (after 90 days)
About the Role: At Sound Floors, we are building for the long term. As our operations expand, we are looking for a precise, ambitious Takeoff Specialist to join our team.
This position starts as a 100% in office role focused strictly on multi-family blueprints, digital takeoffs, and building accurate scopes of work for our current sales team. However, this is not meant to be a permanent desk job. Our intention is to train the right person in our specific systems, products, and pricing models so they can eventually step into an outside sales Representative role with uncapped earning potential.
Step 1: Takeoff Specialist (In-Office) During your first phase with the company, your primary focus will be precision and execution.
- Blueprint Analysis: Navigate high-volume multi-family architectural plans to locate finish schedules and map out project layouts.
- Digital Takeoffs: extract accurate square footage, linear footage, and transition measurements.
- Scope Development: Turn your measurements into clear, actionable scopes of work for our sales team to price.
- Revision Management: Track incoming plan revisions and addendums, updating material quantities accurately.
Step 2: The Sales Transition (Outside Sales) Once you have mastered our internal processes and reached the one-year mark, you will be eligible to transition into outside sales.
- Pricing and bid submissions
- Managing client relationships
- Base-plus-commission structure where your earning potential is uncapped.
What We Want From You
- Attention to Detail: Multi-family plans are complex and change frequently. You need to be organized enough to catch the small details that cost companies money.
- Sales Ambition: You need the communication skills and drive to eventually step away from the monitor and close deals.
- Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in multi-family construction or general estimating is strongly preferred, though we will train the right candidate.
Why Sound Floors?
- We believe investing in our team's future and well-being.
- Unlike many competitors in this space, we provide 100% employer-paid private healthcare after just 90 days.
- We offer a competitive starting base and a very clear, tangible path to advancing your career and income.
