What are the responsibilities and job description for the AutoCAD Technician position at Sound Electronics?
Job Summary
We are a low voltage contractor that specializes in the installation of Fire Alarms, Intrusion Alarms, Intercom / Clock Systems, and Audio / Visual Systems. We typically receive AutoCAD backgrounds from engineering firms in order to produce our shop drawings.
Basic AutoCad Skills
- Creating new drawings, layers, and templates.
- Creating and editing blocks.
- A basic understanding of scale, changing scale, and scaling factors.
- An understanding of fonts and the scaling of fonts.
- Ability to create and scale viewports.
- Understanding of wipeout and using wipeout in blocks and with viewports.
- A rudimentary understanding of what Revit is and it's relationship to AutoCAD.
Basic Computer Skills
- Basic understanding of file systems and file system navigation.
- Basic familiarity with word processors and spreadsheets.
- Basic understanding of a command line interface. i.e, using standard tools, running applications, navigating to directories and drives.
- A rudimentary understanding of computer networks. i.e., IP addresses and basic network tools.
- A rudimentary understanding of network servers and mapping network drives.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
