Senior Supply Chain Planner – Madison, WI

Sound Devices, LLC
Madison, WI Full Time
POSTED ON 4/17/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/15/2026
Salary: Based Upon Experience

Full/Part Time: Full Time

Location: Madison WI

We are seeking a Senior Supply Chain Planner to own material and production planning across two distinct manufacturing environments: Sound Devices (build-to-stock) and JH Audio (predominantly build-to-order). This is a high-ownership, forward-looking role for a self-directed professional who thrives on translating supply chain complexity into actionable plans—and who can anticipate disruptions before they become problems.

The ideal candidate brings deep MRP expertise, strong analytical instincts, and the confidence to drive decisions independently. You will be a key voice in cross-functional conversations with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and Production—and a central contributor to our ongoing ERP transition

Key Responsibilities

Production & Demand Planning

  • Own finished goods and stock-subassembly planning across both Sound Devices and JH Audio facilities.
  • Maintain and proactively refine the rolling 3-month build plan, adjusting dynamically in response to actual vs. forecasted sales performance, unplanned material shortages, and revised supplier lead times.
  • Assess and communicate capacity to fulfill unplanned or expedited sales orders—providing clear timelines and escalating constraints when appropriate.
  • Maintain the monthly manufacturing forecast, identifying trend deviations early and recommending corrective actions.

BOM & Planning Parameter Ownership

  • Own Master BOM and Job BOM integrity—executing updates in support of ECNs and ensuring planning accuracy at all times.
  • Maintain and continuously optimize planning parameters: safety stock levels, order minimums, and component lead times for finished goods and stock-subassemblies.
  • Drive AP leanness month-over-month by proactively identifying and resolving excess or at-risk inventory positions

Cross-Functional Leadership & ERP Transition

  • Serve as the primary lead for the company-wide ERP system migration—coordinating cross-functional readiness, data integrity, and planning continuity throughout the transition.
  • Partner with the Engineering Project Manager to ensure structured, well-documented hand-offs of new products into production planning.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Production, and Purchasing to proactively resolve supply chain disruptions and escalate risks with recommended solutions.

Routine Operations

  • Perform weekly inventory adjustment reconciliation and maintain audit-ready records.
  • Execute ECN-related planning duties as required.
  • Maintain flexibility with office hours to accommodate cross-site coordination and time-sensitive planning needs.
  • Support additional operational initiatives as the business evolves.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5 years of experience in material planning, production planning, inventory management, or a closely related role.
  • Demonstrated mastery of MRP principles and practical application in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize data into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills—able to present complex planning scenarios to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP platforms.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or equivalent professional certification.
  • Working knowledge of MySQL or similar tools for report writing and data queries.
  • Experience with Epicor ERP is a strong advantage, given our active system transition.
  • Familiarity with both build-to-stock and build-to-order environments
