Position Overview

Soul Therapy Holistic Healthcare™ is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and flexible Part-Time On-Call Float Caregiver to join our growing team.

This position is designed for a reliable caregiver who can provide immediate staffing support when regularly scheduled caregivers call out, experience emergencies, or are otherwise unavailable.

The ideal candidate must be willing and able to accept assignments on short notice, maintain consistent communication with management, and travel to client homes as needed.

This is an essential backup staffing position. Reliability, availability, and responsiveness are mandatory.

Compensation & Pay Structure

We offer a unique compensation structure that rewards caregivers for maintaining availability and providing emergency coverage.

Daily Availability Pay: $25.00

• Receive $25 per day for each assigned on-call availability day.
• Availability compensation is paid weekly.
• This payment compensates caregivers for maintaining availability to respond to staffing needs.

Hourly Compensation: $19.00

• Earn $19.00 per hour for all hours worked during assigned caregiving shifts.
• Hourly compensation is paid in addition to the daily availability payment.
• All compensation is subject to applicable wage and hour requirements.

Example: A caregiver assigned to seven on-call days who works 20 hours during that week would earn:

• Daily availability pay: $25 × 7 days = $175.00
• Hourly caregiving pay: $19 × 20 hours = $380.00
• Total Weekly Gross Pay: $555.00

Actual weekly earnings depend on assigned availability days and hours worked.

Key Responsibilities

Emergency Staffing & Coverage

• Remain available during assigned on-call periods.
• Respond promptly to calls, messages, and emergency staffing requests.
• Provide coverage for caregiver call-outs, unexpected absences, and staffing emergencies.
• Accept short-notice assignments at various client locations.
• Arrive on time and prepared to provide professional care.
• Maintain communication with management regarding availability, arrival times, and completed assignments.

Client Care & Support

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Assist with meal preparation, hydration reminders, and nutritional needs.
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and other approved household tasks.
• Assist with safe transfers and repositioning in accordance with training and the client's care plan.
• Provide medication reminders within the agency's authorized non-medical scope of services.
• Respect each client's independence, personal preferences, dignity, and privacy.
• Follow established client care plans and agency policies.

Documentation & Communication

• Complete accurate daily caregiver notes for every shift worked.
• Submit required documentation through the agency's designated communication platform.
• Immediately report changes in client condition, incidents, or concerns to management.
• Maintain professional communication with clients, families, and other caregivers.
• Ensure proper communication when assuming or transferring client care responsibilities.

Mandatory Availability Requirements

Because this position serves as emergency backup coverage, applicants must understand and agree to the following expectations:

• Must be available to respond to emergency call-outs and last-minute assignments during agreed-upon on-call periods.
• Must have dependable, reliable transportation to travel to client homes.
• Must maintain a working phone and respond promptly to calls and messages.
• Must be flexible to cover daytime, evening, overnight, weekend, or holiday shifts as needed.
• Must communicate any scheduling conflicts or changes in availability in advance.
• Must be willing to work at different client locations.
• Must demonstrate excellent attendance, punctuality, and dependability.

Qualifications

• Previous caregiving, personal care, home care, or healthcare experience preferred.
• CNA or PCA certification is a plus but not required.
• Experience assisting elderly individuals or clients with limited mobility preferred.
• Ability to follow individualized care plans and safety procedures.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Compassionate, professional, and patient-centered approach to caregiving.
• Ability to successfully complete applicable background screening and agency onboarding requirements.

Position Expectations

The On-Call Float Caregiver plays a critical role in ensuring our clients continue receiving consistent, uninterrupted care when unexpected staffing needs arise.

This position requires an individual who understands that emergency coverage is a priority and who is committed to maintaining dependable availability during scheduled on-call periods.

While caregiving assignments may vary from week to week, the caregiver will receive daily availability compensation for assigned on-call days, in addition to hourly wages earned for shifts worked.
