About the Role

This Associate or Senior Associate role sits on the deal team of a well-established lower middle-market private equity firm in Boston, MA. The firm invests across technology, business services, consumer services, healthcare, manufacturing, and distribution — targeting businesses with $1M of EBITDA — and is currently investing out of its eighth fund. Known for its collaborative, dynamic culture and close partnerships with founder-owned management teams, this is a rare chance to join a mature, proven platform still moving with real momentum.

Key Responsibilities

The Associate will support senior investment professionals in investment sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio management functions of the firm. Specific responsibilities include:

• Financial analysis – Create financial models to analyze cash flows, investment returns, and enterprise values for new investment opportunities and existing portfolio companies
• Investment approval materials – Prepare memos and other approval materials for the Investment Committee
• Industry research – Conduct research on market size, growth prospects, demand drivers, key competitors, etc.
• Third party diligence – Facilitate diligence activities with third-party partners (e.g., senior lenders, accountants, attorneys, IT consultants, strategy consultants)
• Portfolio management – Assist with ongoing monitoring and ad hoc strategic projects for portfolio companies 

Professional Experience & Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, leveraged finance, or management consulting, with lower middle-market experience a plus.

Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment, work independently, prioritize work effectively, and meet stringent deadlines while maintaining high quality of work standards.

Education

An undergraduate degree is required.  

Salary

$200-220k total compensation
