We are locally operated, veteran-owned, and dedicated to helping seniors and their families navigate the often overwhelming process of finding appropriate senior living arrangements when needs arise and Mom or Dad just aren't safe living alone at home anymore. Our Senior Living & Family Advocates provide education, coordinate and accompany families on personalized tours, provide ongoing support, and are "hands-on" in assisting families with making informed decisions tailored around their loved ones' care requirements.

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and relationship-driven Senior Living Advocate to serve the Port St. Lucie area and surrounding communities.

In this role, you will personally guide seniors and their families through the senior living placement process, helping to educate families to identify appropriate care options, explore potential communities of interest, help with any transitional planning, and help families make important decisions with confidence.

Our Senior Living & Family Advocates specifically develop relationships with healthcare professionals, community organizations, and senior living providers to locate families in crisis, or in need of on-going help, and then provide appropriate solutions to address those various needs.

The ideal candidate combines experience in healthcare with a genuine passion for helping others. They will need to have strong interpersonal skills, professional initiative, lead with compassion, and the ability to independently build lasting relationships throughout the Port St. Lucie community.

Key Responsibilities

Senior & Family Advocacy

• Conduct personalized "discovery" consultations to understand a senior's clinical care needs, financial capabilities and additional funding opportunities, personal and family considerations, and individual preferences as to the next chapter of their lives.
• Educate families about potential senior living options. This education includes insights into independent living, assisted living, and memory care.
• Identify appropriate senior living communities and personally coordinate and accompany families on community tours.
• Guide families through the decision-making, admissions, and placement process while prioritizing each senior's safety, dignity, and well-being.
• Maintain consistent communication and follow-up with families and associated community partners, before, during, and after placement.

Professional Outreach & Referral Development

• Actively develop and maintain professional referral relationships with hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, physicians, discharge planners, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Establish connections with community organizations serving seniors and vulnerable adults.
• Conduct regular in-person outreach, networking, and relationship-building activities to generate new referrals.
• Educate referral partners about Soter's advocacy services and establish Soter as a trusted resource for families navigating senior living decisions.

Senior Living Community Partnerships

• Build and maintain strong relationships with assisted living, memory care, and other senior living communities.
• Visit communities regularly to remain knowledgeable about care capabilities, amenities, pricing, availability, and admission requirements.
• Identify and develop new community partnerships to expand placement options for families.
• Maintain accurate client records, referral information, and placement documentation using Soter's client management system.

Qualifications

Required

• Experience in the Healthcare community of Port St. Lucie and St. Lucie county in general.
• Genuine compassion for seniors and families navigating difficult care decisions.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong initiative, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
• Confidence in professional networking, community outreach, and referral development.
• Ability to manage multiple client relationships while providing attentive, personalized service.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to maintain accurate electronic records.

Preferred

• Experience in senior living, assisted living, memory care, healthcare, social services, or a related field.
• Background in community outreach, business development, referral generation, or relationship management.
• Familiarity with senior living communities and healthcare resources throughout St. Lucie County and surrounding areas.
• Established relationships within the local healthcare or senior services community.

Compensation & Work Arrangement

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity offering fixed contractual bi-weekly compensation plus additional commissions earned through successful senior living placements.

• Independently managed schedule.
• Field-based position serving Port St. Lucie and surrounding areas.
• Compensation structure and contractual terms will be discussed during the interview process.
