Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, clamp trucks, cranes, and other heavy equipment to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse
- Perform order picking using RF scanners and pick systems to fulfill shipping orders accurately and efficiently
- Load and unload trucks with precision, ensuring proper stacking and secure placement of goods
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying inbound and outbound shipments against documentation
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and mechanical integrity
- Support warehouse management system (WMS) updates for inventory tracking and materials movement
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors on materials handling tasks, maintaining a clean, organized workspace for optimal safety and efficiency
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related roles with warehouse experience preferred
- Valid forklift certification; experience operating cranes, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting basic equipment issues quickly and safely
- Familiarity with RF scanners and warehouse management systems for accurate order picking and inventory control
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during order picking and load & unload tasks
- Construction or industrial background is a plus for understanding complex machinery operations
