We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) to join our dynamic behavioral health team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments, including diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems, to determine client needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling utilizing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and applied behavior analysis.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to support clients experiencing acute mental health or substance use crises, ensuring safety and stabilization.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including progress notes, treatment plans, and patient records.
- Facilitate intake procedures for new clients by collecting comprehensive patient histories, conducting assessments, and coordinating case management services.
- Engage in ongoing data collection for research purposes and quality improvement initiatives related to behavioral health outcomes.
- Collaborate with medical professionals to coordinate care for clients with complex needs such as PTSD care or hospital-based treatment.
- Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis management protocols while providing compassionate support during difficult moments.
- Stay current on medical terminology relevant to addiction medicine and mental health counseling to ensure precise communication within interdisciplinary teams.
Experience
- Experience with SAPTA/BHCEN a MUST
- Proven experience in psychotherapy, mental health counseling, or addiction counseling within clinical or community settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in crisis intervention, crisis management, and behavior management techniques.
- Familiarity with home & community care environments as well as hospital settings is highly desirable.
- Strong background in working with diverse populations including children & families, individuals with PTSD or trauma histories, and those requiring behavioral health support.
- Knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical records documentation standards.
- Experience in conducting diagnostic evaluations using standardized tools; familiarity with research methodologies is a plus.
