Position Overview
We are seeking a Pipefitting Apprentice / Boiler Apprentice with at least 1 year of hands-on experience and a basic understanding of boiler systems. This role is ideal for someone who already has some time in the field and wants to continue building real skills alongside experienced technicians.
Work Environment
- On the road (field-based)
- Residential and light commercial plumbing/heating work
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in plumbing, pipefitting, HVAC, or boiler-related work
- Rhode Island driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Must pass a background check and RMV check
- Ability to lift, carry, and work in typical jobsite conditions (basements, attics, mechanical rooms, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Assist with boiler installs, replacements, and service work under supervision
- Help with hydronic piping, circulators, zone valves, expansion tanks, air separators, and related components
- Support basic troubleshooting and diagnostics (no-flame, no-heat, leaks, air issues, etc.)
- Assist with pipe assembly and installation (threading, soldering, pressing, and general fitting)
- Learn to read and interpret basic piping layouts and mechanical room configurations
- Maintain clean, safe jobsites and help with loading/unloading materials
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with hydronic systems and boiler piping basics
- Comfort using hand tools and jobsite power tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow direction
- Motivation to learn, show up consistently, and improve every week
