What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pallet Builder / Stacker Operator position at Sort and Stack LLC?

The Pallet Builder / Stacker Operator will be responsible for constructing, stacking, and preparing finished loads of sorted or recycled materials for shipment or further processing. This is a physically‑active, on‑site role that requires attention to stacking quality, safety and meeting output targets in a warehouse/production setting.

Key Responsibilities

Build and assemble pallets of materials (e.g., sorted/recycled items) according to specified patterns and stacking protocols.

Secure pallets using stretch wrap, banding, strapping or other methods as required; ensure loads are stable, properly aligned and ready for transport.

Move and position pallets within the facility (with pallet jack, hand truck, or forklift if certified) and stage them for shipping or further processing.

Monitor stacking heights, weight limits and spacing according to company safety and quality standards.

Inspect finished pallets for defects (unstable loads, mis‐stacked items, improper wrapping) and correct as needed.

Maintain good housekeeping in stacking zones: clear debris, keep aisles free, ensure safe access and comply with facility safety protocols.

Coordinate with sorters, forklift operators, shipping/receiving and production crews to ensure smooth workflow and minimal downtime.

Help with inventory counts, loading/unloading assistance, material handling and shifting pallet positions as needed.

Report any equipment issues (pallet jacks, wrap machines, banding tools) to maintenance/supervisor and assist with change‑overs or line set‑ups when required.

Meet productivity goals for number of pallets built/staged, stacking error rate, turnaround time and minimal damage/spoilage of materials.

Education/Experience

Qualifications & Skills

High School Diploma Or Equivalent Preferred But Not Required.

Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, recycling or material‐handling environment is a plus.

Experience with manual pallet building, stacking, wrapping, strapping, and material handling – helpful.

Skills & Attributes

Ability to perform physical tasks: standing for long periods, bending, lifting up to 50‑60 lbs (or more), pushing/pulling loads, climbing or working at low/higher stack heights.

Good spatial awareness and hand‑eye coordination to stack loads neatly, safely and efficiently.

Comfortable working in an industrial/warehouse environment: moderate to noisy, variable temperature, repetitive tasks.

Reliability, punctuality and strong work ethic essential.

Ability to work as part of a team, follow instructions, and maintain quality and safety standards.

Basic mechanical aptitude (for wrapping machines, strapping devices, pallet jacks) is helpful.

Working Conditions & Schedule

On‑site at the facility in Oklahoma City.

Day shift typical (for example: Monday‑Friday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.) but may vary depending on production/recycling demands.

Physically active environment; lots of movement, lifting, stacking, and material handling.

Requires wearing appropriate PPE (e.g., steel‑toe boots, gloves, safety glasses) and adherence to safety protocols.
