What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse / Inventory Associate position at Sort and Stack LLC?
The Warehouse / Inventory Associate plays a key role in the facility’s operations — helping to maintain inventory accuracy, receive/store/shipping materials, monitor stock levels, perform cycle counts, and support the overall warehouse workflow. This is a physically‑active, on‑site warehouse role requiring attention to detail, good organizational skills, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Receive inbound shipments: check material counts, inspect condition, record receipt in inventory system, stage materials appropriately.
Move materials to storage locations, assign bin/rack locations, organize warehouse storage areas for optimal accessibility and safety.
Monitor and track inventory levels (raw materials, sorted/recycled materials, finished/palletized goods), conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
Update inventory records (paper and digital) and interface with production/operations to coordinate material flow for stacking, sorting or shipment.
Prepare shipping/dispatch orders: pick materials, package or palletize as needed, label shipments, coordinate with shipping/receiving personnel.
Assist with warehouse housekeeping: keep aisles clear, maintain storage areas, comply with safety regulations (PPE, lifting protocols, equipment operation).
Use warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, hand trucks, basic material handling gear) to move materials safely; may assist forklift operators or shift supervisors.
Report any inventory variances, damaged goods, material shortages or overages to the supervisor.
Support continuous improvement of warehouse processes (organization, storage layout, inventory accuracy, turnaround time) in line with Sort & Stack’s “zero‑waste” and quality performance culture.
Participate in physical inventory events, assist with audit readiness and ensure inventory documentation is accurate and up to date.
Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not strictly required.
Experience in a warehouse, manufacturing support, inventory tracking or material handling environment is a plus.
Basic computer literacy and experience using inventory or warehouse tracking systems is beneficial.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.
Ability to perform physical tasks: standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50‑60 lbs or more, pushing/pulling loads, using material handling equipment.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, warehouse/production teams and shipping/receiving personnel.
Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work on‑site in the warehouse setting.
Comfortable working in industrial facility conditions (warehouse, sorting/stacking environment, moderate noise, variable temperature).
Willingness to follow safety protocols, use required PPE, and maintain a clean/organized work area.
Working Conditions & Schedule

Typical daytime shift (for example Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.) but may vary depending on production/warehouse demand.

Contribute to a company focused on performance, environmental responsibility and relationship with manufacturing clients.
