Job Summary
We’re looking for a skilled Indian cusine Chef/Cook to join our team at Qualcomm cafeteria with additional catering needs. This is a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen, so you must be able to work under pressure while keeping quality and consistency in every dish. You’ll prepare authentic Indian meals daily and support larger catered events as needed.
One of the best parts of this role: unlike most restaurant jobs, shifts are mainly Monday–Friday during the day, with evenings, weekends, and holidays off in most cases.
Duties
- Cook and prepare authentic Indian cuisine (vegetarian and non-vegetarian) for daily service
- Handle high-volume meal prep and service in a fast-paced kitchen
- Assist with menu prep, setup, and execution for catering events
- Maintain food quality, presentation, and consistency
- Keep kitchen clean and follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Work with the team to meet service timelines
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during events
- Manage inventory of food supplies and equipment necessary for catering services
- Assist in training new kitchen staff on food handling and preparation techniques
Experience
- Proven experience as an Indian Chef or Cook (restaurant, catering, or cafeteria)
- Strong knowledge of Indian spices, flavors, and cooking techniques
- Ability to perform in high-pressure, high-volume environments
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Food safety knowledge (ServSafe certification a plus)
- A passion for the culinary arts and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences
Schedule & Pay
- Full-Time and Part-Time positions available
- Primarily Monday–Friday daytime hours (occasional events may require evenings/weekends)
- Pay depends on experience
