Sorenson Engineering is seeking a candidate with experience in manufacturing engineering, with CAD CAM development, CNC Programming, and training experience.

Summary

Responsible for ensuring processes for inspecting customer products are compliant with the most current Sorenson Engineering standards.

Level I-Entry-level quality engineering position responsible for supporting the team by assisting in the creation of Quality Control Plans, Quality Inspection Programs and Final Inspection Programs. Provides administrative support of QIP file management.

Level II-In addition to Level I responsibilities, is capable of approving Quality Control Plans, Quality Inspections Programs and Final Inspection Programs created by other team members. Advanced knowledge of SPC and SQC sampling processes as well as metrology software, applies this knowledge to optimize quality measurement processes.

Level III- In addition to Level I and Level II responsibilities, has a strong competence in all aspects of the Quality Process Engineering scope of responsibility. Provides guidance to less experienced team members. Actively seeks to identify improved methodologies to ensure customer expectations on quality are exceeded.

Level IV- Engineering Degree required- Hybrid Manufacturing & Quality Engineering position capable of complex analysis of a specialist nature for the manufacturing operations responsible for. Capable of performing all tasks of Level I, II & III. Collaborates closely with the Technical Director, daily work tasks completed independently without the need for supervision. Provides technical expertise to less experienced team members and operational personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Create Quality Control Plans for all manufacturing processes.
  • Creates, deploys and debugs Quality Inspection Programs.
  • Manages the deployment, approval and access of Quality Inspection Programs throughout the company.
  • Creates Final Inspection Programs.
  • Creates Quality Inspection Programs for customer First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Seeks to advance metrology focused quality processes.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Provides daily engineering report.
  • Special Assignments as requested by the supervisor.

Knowledge And Abilities

Knowledge of administrative procedures. Able to manage paper files and electronic records. Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Prolink QC-Calc, Keyence LM, Vici and OGP metrology software/hardware. Basic to advance understanding of the usage and applications of Epicor Kinetic. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communicator and team collaborator. Able to communicate effectively in English

Education And Experience

Levels I, II & IV require bachelor’s degree in engineering. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Level III requires minimum of 10 years of appropriate technical experience with Sorenson Engineering.

Physical Demands

Must be able to periodically walk and or travel to other areas of the plant, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with help, must have good eyesight and hand dexterity, and able to identify and distinguish colors.

Work Environment

Within safety guidelines, there will be exposed to noise, moving mechanical parts, oils/solvents, fumes, and odors that may affect the eyes, ears, nose, throat and/or skin.
