About the Role:
We’re looking for an experienced higher-level technician to take on complex mechanical and diagnostic work in our fleet of Kenworth, Peterbilt, Mack, Volvo, and Western Star 4-axle trucks, along with a variety of tanker trailers — singles, doubles, and quads — including MC331, DOT406, DOT407SS, and Non-Code cargo tanks in our shop. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on solving tough problems, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can serve as a go-to technical resource for the team. You don’t need to be a tanker expert on day one — we’ll provide training — but strong truck diagnostic and repair skills are key.
Schedule Options:
- Sunday–Thursday full-time schedule
- Sunday–Wednesday 4×10 schedule (four 10-hour shifts)
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on trucks and trailers
- Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections
- Assist with cargo tank service and repairs (training provided for MC/DOT/Non-Code tanks)
- Troubleshoot with OEM diagnostic software and tools
- Maintain accurate service records
- Mentor junior techs and help with specialized shop repairs
Qualifications:
- 5 years of heavy truck and trailer repair experience preferred
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills on heavy-duty trucks
- CDL (Class A with tanker/hazmat endorsement preferred) or ability to obtain
- Familiarity with OEM diagnostic software (Cummins Insite, Detroit DDDL, Bendix, Eaton, etc.) a plus
- Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
Physical Demands:
- Involves essential ability to maneuver around, in, on and under trucks in order to properly inspect and diagnose all types of problems and repairs.
- Must be able to pass a physical and drug and alcohol screens during pre-employment screening, randomly and/or as requested throughout employment.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds to the waist and 25 pounds to the shoulder.
