Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage their seating preferences to optimize flow and guest satisfaction
- Handle restaurant reservation management using Open table
- Answer phone calls professionally, providing information about wait times, reservations, and general inquiries with excellent phone etiquette
- Maintain organized waiting lists and coordinate with the team to ensure timely seating arrangements
- Assist with guest services by addressing questions, resolving concerns, and ensuring a positive first impression
- Support food safety standards by maintaining cleanliness in the host station and adhering to hygiene protocols
- Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to facilitate efficient table turnover and smooth service flow
Skills
- Proven experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant or food service environment
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively with diverse guests
- Excellent organizational skills to manage seating charts, waitlists, and phone inquiries effectively
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, wait times, and billing-related tasks
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hospitality best practices
