Civil Engineer II

Position Description

The Civil Engineer II will work in a highly collaborative team environment with the Project Manager (and other team members) to continuously monitor and strategize overall product status and production scheduling. In addition, this position will provide technical design on projects including grading, drainage, erosion and sedimentation control, and stormwater management issues; water, sewer, and dry utility routing; water network modeling, earthwork analysis, hydraulic and hydrology studies.

Additional Duties

• Assist in the production of design documents.

• Support client communications and meetings.

• Participate in training staff regarding engineering design, production techniques, and other company standard operating procedures.

• Support the PM in project management, design production and assigned staff. Including but not limited to assisting with the:

  • quality of design products and submissions

  • efficient utilization of design and production staff

  • effective communication and coordination with the client, external design team, reviewer, and internal staff

• Actively participate in the quality control process

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

• Engineer-in-training certification required, professional engineer (PE) license preferred

• 3-6 years of land development experience

• Must be able to work independently and manage assigned project tasks

• Proficiency in use of AutoDesk Civil 3D preferred.

• Experience in land development design in the DMV region (DC, Maryland, and/or Virginia).
