Role Description
This is a full-time on-site Design & Selections Coordinator role located in Boulder, CO at Sopris Development LLC. The Design & Selections Coordinator manages the design selections process for residential construction projects from start to finish — working directly with clients to choose finishes and materials, coordinating with vendors and showrooms to confirm pricing and availability, and ensuring that every selection and change is accurately documented. This role goes well beyond logistics. The right candidate is a creative partner to our clients, helping them develop and refine their design vision from early concept through final selections. You’ll recommend color palettes, material pairings, fixture styles, and finish combinations that bring each home to life — adapting your approach to suit a wide range of tastes, from contemporary minimalism to warm traditional aesthetics. Whether a client arrives with a clear vision or needs guidance discovering their style, you’ll be the person who helps them get there. This role serves as a key point of contact for clients throughout the design and selections phases, translating their vision into actionable specifications for the construction team.
Responsibilities
- Guide clients through the selections process for finishes, fixtures, appliances, and materials across active residential projects
- Provide creative design guidance and suggestions tailored to each client’s aesthetic preferences, budget, and project scope
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and showrooms to obtain pricing, confirm lead times, and manage orders
- Price and document all design changes, change orders, and substitutions, ensuring the project team and client are aligned
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all selections, changes, and approvals in project management software
- Attend regular site walks to verify selections are being installed correctly and flag any discrepancies early
- Communicate proactively with clients, project managers, and subcontractors to keep the selections process on schedule
- Track selection deadlines against the construction timeline and escalate delays before they impact the build
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience as an interior designer, selections coordinator, showroom consultant, or in a closely related role within residential construction or design
- A strong eye for design with the ability to work fluidly across a range of styles — from modern to traditional
- Working knowledge of residential finishes, materials, fixtures, and the selections process
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to track details across multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and client-friendly demeanor
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite required; experience with construction or project management software (e.g., Buildertrend, Monday.com) preferred
- Comfortable in a client-facing role that requires balancing competing priorities and timelines
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or other design-related field preferred
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $65,000–$80,000 annually and is heavily dependent on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
This role is an in-office, full-time position. Regular site walks and showroom visits are expected.
