Manager of Product Management
The Manager of Product Management is responsible for overseeing the Product Management Department. He/she serves as the champion and curator for the “cradle to grave” activities necessary to support all products sold by SOPREMA and its subsidiaries. This position leads product management while leveraging the expertise of outside analysts and consultants to accomplish the company’s overall strategic objectives.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities (not all inclusive):
- Manage and mentor the department; ability to fulfill Product Management duties for all lines.
- Responsible for the successful day-to-day operations of the department.
- Having expertise with the products for which one is responsible.
- Deep knowledge of manufacturing, testing, application, etc.
- Intimate knowledge of the competitive environment.
- Product SWOT of competition vs SOPREMA
- How to sell against the competition
- Pricing of the competition
- Innovations by the competition
- Sales support.
- Presentations to collaborators and customers regarding the assigned materials.
- Work with marketing to provide selling collateral and tools
- Sell Sheets
- PowerPoints
- PDS
- Assist in market pricing with the CEO, COO, CFO, and NSMs
- Samples and demonstrations
- Communicate frequently and train sales (and others) as needed
- Support all strategic efforts to deliver value and profitably grow the business.
- Maintain ongoing alignment with the sales team, marketing team, product management, and executive team (among other areas of the business).
- Proactively engage the sales team (Salesforce, product launches, training, etc).
- Other responsibilities as determined by the CEO – U.S. Operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years’ marketing experience working in roles of increasing responsibility.
- Advanced degree (MBA or Masters in Marketing) or equivalent experience.
- Highly skilled communicator (both written and oral).
- Experience leading teams of professionals (both internally, externally, and remotely).
- Must be an exceptional problem-solver.
- Proactive collaborator across all levels within the company.
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Experience within the roofing and/or construction industry is a plus.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
- Travel ~30% of time (more during first quarter of each year).
- Able to travel long distances by car and airplane as required.
- Able to travel domestically and internationally.
- Attendance at offsite events and meetings
- Participation in testing, manufacturing, and application trials
- Adhere to all PPE requirements when handling materials
