Company Description
Sophrosyne Pharmaceuticals is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing novel therapies for patients suffering from Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) and associated conditions, as well as from other addictions and brain health diseases. As the Company advances its multiple development programs, it is seeking to build greater awareness of the need for novel therapies among various important external constituents, including patients, healthcare providers, caregivers, policy makers, insurance companies, employers, and others.
Role Description
The Marketing Intern will work closely with the CEO and other members of the team to develop an engagement strategy for the vast array of key constituents and to execute an efficient corresponding communication program within acceptable media platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, web site, etc). The efforts will align with the Company’s strategic goals as well as the sensibilities of brain health diseases and regulations of the biopharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities
Ideation - Based on the Company’s strategic objectives, and activities that are occurring in real-time within the brain-health echo system, constantly be ideating on posts, partnerships, campaigns, and follower acquisition opportunities. Report on these ideas in the team meeting for approval to build around and add to content calendar
Scouring Media Channels for on-brand content - Staying on top of current events within the brain-health echo system and the biopharmaceutical industry overall, as well as social media trends, be opportunistic about areas in which we can insert Sophrosyne to increase traffic to the Company’s LinkedIn profile and web site.
Social Media - Managing our Content Calendar, which is a detailed rundown of the next 90 days of all social media communication on LinkedIn and the Company web site. Posting based on this calendar and approvals from executive team. Tracking and reporting to executive team on success of posts from a viewership and engagement perspective.
Partnership Marketing - Prospecting/Creating Partnerships within new or existing targeted entities in the broader brain-health echo system to engage social media campaigns or "swaps". Creating the story for approval and relationship management with said partners.
Public Relations - Constantly prospecting, or even prospect writers, for opportunity that may be of interest or important to Sophrosyne and reach out to and be included in the follow up
Campaign Development - ideating, banking content, and helping to prepare and create future campaigns
Other Marketing Opportunities as they arise, which could include research and analysis
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree required with a preference in life sciences; advanced degree, or currently in pursuit of one, is desirable
· Strong experience working across multi-media platforms and marketing campaigns, with progressive increase in level and breadth of responsibility.
· Ability to interact effectively with senior executives of the organization
· High energy and self-motivated with the ability to take charge of new responsibilities and adapt within an evolving and entrepreneurial work environment.
· Proven experience achieving deliverables through collaboration with internal and external partners
· Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate multifunctional activities
· Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
· Experience communicating and negotiating with social media and other communication entities
The individual will preferably reside in New York City, though most of the work will be performed remotely. Some domestic travel (<10%) may be required
