Sony Corporation of America seeks a Senior Strategy and Planning Specialist in San Jose, CA to work with Sony R&D members to conduct assessments of highly technical proposal submissions to the annual Sony Research Award Program. Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent, and three (3) years of experience negotiating and overseeing implementation of university agreements/contracts; interfacing with U.S. university professors and staff to discuss IP matters, publications and sponsored research; educating, advising and managing intellectual property; negotiating intellectual property related terms in sponsored research agreements, license agreements, and confidentiality/nondisclosure agreements; interfacing with legal counsel, IP counsel, risk management, and export control departments to ensure company is protected with liability, representation, and other legal provisions; and in executing duties, utilizing CLM/innovation management software and defining CLM best practices. In the alternative, we will accept a Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. Salary Range: $144,500.00 – $150,000.00/year.
