Psychiatric Technician – Correctional Facility
Location: Ione, CA
We are hiring Psychiatric Technicians to provide behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to mentally or developmentally disabled patients/youth in a secure correctional environment.
Schedules Available
- Wed – Sun | 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM
- Sun – Thurs | 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
- Sat – Wed | 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
- Tues – Sat | 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 12 months of experience within the last 3 years in a similar role (public or private institution)
- Current and valid LPT license (California)
- Current and valid BLS certification
- Fluent in English (oral and written)
Job Duties
- Provide psychiatric and behavioral nursing care
- Monitor for changes in behavior and mental status
- Administer medications and treatments under RN/MD supervision
- Record vital signs and complete nursing procedures
- Participate in treatment plans and therapy sessions as directed
- Communicate with custody and healthcare staff to ensure safety and continuity of care
- Complete accurate documentation according to facility standards
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients/youth
Pay: $50.00 - $53.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
Experience:
- Psychiatric Technician: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- Licensed Psychiatric Technician (Required)
- BLS Certification (Required)
