You will work in various settings, including critical care units, emergency departments, and outpatient clinics, providing essential respiratory therapy services to patients of all ages. Your skills in airway management, patient assessment, and ventilator support will be crucial as you collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver top-notch care.
What you’ll do
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments and interventions to patients with diverse respiratory conditions.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs monitoring and pulmonary function evaluations.
- Manage ventilators and other respiratory equipment to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding respiratory health management and medication administration.
- Participate in emergency response situations, utilizing your critical care experience effectively.
- Document all patient interactions and treatment plans accurately in accordance with medical protocols.
- Stay current with advancements in respiratory therapy practices and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Basic qualifications
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and pulmonology.
- Proficiency in basic life support techniques and airway management procedures.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), or operating room (OR) settings.
- Familiarity with both inpatient and outpatient environments, including Level I and Level II trauma centers.
- Background in geriatrics or acute care settings is a plus.
