Job Summary

You will be responsible for assessing patient needs, administering respiratory treatments, managing ventilators, and supporting critical care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate respiratory status and vital signs, including oxygen saturation and lung function.
- Administer respiratory therapies such as nebulizers, oxygen therapy, and aerosol treatments with precision and care.
- Manage and monitor ventilator equipment for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, ensuring proper operation and safety protocols.
- Assist in airway management procedures including intubation, extubation, and airway clearance techniques.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in critical care settings like ICU, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and Level I or Level II trauma centers to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Perform patient education on respiratory health, medication administration, and breathing techniques for outpatient and inpatient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatments administered, patient responses, and vital signs while adhering to hospital policies and medical terminology standards.
- Respond swiftly to emergency situations in emergency medicine environments by providing critical respiratory support and BLS (Basic Life Support) as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience in hospital medicine with a strong background in critical care environments such as ICU or emergency departments.
- Prior work in pediatric (PICU) or geriatrics settings demonstrating adaptability across age groups.
- Experience with airway management procedures including intubation and ventilator troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with pulmonology practices and anatomy knowledge related to respiratory systems.
- Hands-on experience with ventilator management, oxygen therapy devices, and acute care protocols within Level I or Level II trauma centers.
- Outpatient clinic experience preferred but not required; must be comfortable working in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to respiratory therapy and physiology is essential for effective communication within healthcare teams.
- Demonstrated ability to assess patients comprehensively through vital signs monitoring and patient assessment skills.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are advantageous.
