What you’ll do
- Assist dentists during various procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring all instruments are sterilized and ready for use while adhering to infection control protocols.
- Take and develop X-rays, utilizing your knowledge of medical imaging to capture high-quality images for diagnosis.
- Manage patient records using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Dentrix and Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide chairside assistance during treatments, including prosthodontics and endodontics, while monitoring vital signs and patient comfort.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care, fostering a proactive approach to dental health.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently.
- Stay current with dental terminology and advancements in technology, including 3D scanning techniques.
Basic qualifications
- Certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent experience in dental assisting.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems, particularly Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in pediatric dentistry or working with children in a clinical setting.
- Familiarity with medical documentation processes, including medical coding and record-keeping.
- Knowledge of anatomy related to dental health and proficiency in aseptic technique.
- Previous experience in a dental clinic environment is highly desirable.
