Your expertise in various dental procedures and technologies will be essential in delivering exceptional care, particularly in pediatric and general dentistry settings.
What you’ll do
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Manage patient records and medical documentation with precision, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform X-ray imaging and medical imaging tasks, maintaining high standards of infection control and aseptic technique.
- Support pediatric patients by creating a friendly atmosphere and explaining procedures to alleviate their concerns.
- Utilize EMR systems, including Dentrix and Eaglesoft, for accurate scheduling and record-keeping.
- Monitor vital signs and assist with the administration of anesthesia as directed by the dentist.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term health.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient office operations.
Basic qualifications
- Certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent experience in dental assisting.
- Proficient knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures related to prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with 3D scanning technology for dental imaging.
- Familiarity with medical coding and documentation practices.
- Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting, particularly with pediatric patients.
