Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair components of truck and trailer refrigeration units.
- Perform diagnostics on transport refrigeration units using scanners, electronic test equipment, and onboard computers.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, component replacement, and service on refrigeration equipment.
- Maintain transport truck and trailer refrigeration units and truck's APU by reviewing shop orders.
- Repair failures, including removing, replacing, and testing for Freon leaks.
- Assemble and install parts and components, utilizing soldering, welding, and refrigeration equipment.
- Install new refrigeration units on trailers, trucks, and vans.
- Regularly travel to existing and prospective customer locations, operating vehicles within their limits and weather conditions, and complying with all road signs.
- Adhere to all Auto Safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments.
- Perform other duties as required and assigned by the manager.
Qualifications:
- 5 years experience servicing and repairing Thermo King and/or Carrier transport refrigeration units (truck & trailer).
- EPA Section 608/609 Certification required; ASE certifications in Refrigeration or Medium/Heavy Truck preferred.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills using electronic test equipment, scanners, and onboard computers.
- Must be 21 with a valid Drivers License and clean driving record; CDL a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work in outdoor environments with regular travel to customer sites.
