We are currently seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Teacher Assistant to join our team. If you have a passion for working with young children and enjoy being part of a supportive team, we would love to hear from you!
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities.
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
- Supervise and interact positively with students throughout the day.
- Assist with meals, playground supervision, nap time, and classroom organization.
- Encourage positive behavior and model Christian values.
- Communicate professionally with staff and families.
- Follow all DCF licensing requirements and Sonshine School policies.
Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of the required 45 DCF Training Hours is preferred (or willingness to complete them within the required timeframe).
- CPR & First Aid Certification (Infant, Child, and Adult) is preferred or must be obtained.
- Must pass all required background screenings.
- Must be dependable, caring, patient, and work well in a team environment.
- A commitment to supporting the mission and Christian values of Sonshine School.
