We are looking for a reliable, hard-working Skilled Laborer / Pipe Crew Helper to support our industrial piping teams in the field. In this role, you will work directly alongside experienced Pipefitters on active industrial manufacturing sites, installing specialized cooling systems, compressed air lines, and fluid distribution networks.
This is a great opportunity for someone with foundational mechanical construction skills who wants to build a long-term career in industrial pipefitting and mechanical trades.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist lead pipefitters with the layout, prep, cutting, and assembly of PVC Schedule 80, Copper, and Aluminum Air Pipe systems.
- Safely operate basic shop tools, pipe cutters, power tools, grinders, and hand tools under supervision.
- Prepare piping materials for joining (cleaning, deburring, beveling, solvent-welding PVC, and prepping copper fittings).
- Stage materials, unload equipment (chillers, pumps, towers), and manage site organization to ensure efficient workflow.
- Set up ladders, scaffolding, and staging safely; stage rig equipment and materials as directed.
- Help conduct pneumatic and hydrostatic pressure testing on newly installed lines.
- Maintain strict adherence to site safety protocols and OSHA standards.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Experience: 1 years of general construction, mechanical assisting, or trade labor experience (pipefitting/plumbing exposure is a major plus).
- Skills: Familiarity with basic power/hand tools, tape measure accuracy, and mechanical aptitude.
- Work Ethic: Punctual, willing to take direction, and eager to learn the pipefitting trade.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs, work at heights on scissor/boom lifts, and handle physical labor in active job-site environments.
- General Requirements: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; OSHA 10 certification is a plus (will train qualified candidates).
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
