At Sonoran Hills Behavioral Health, we are currently seeking a passionate, and dependable, Behavioral Health Technician to join our mission-driven team.
Sonoran Hills Behavioral Health is a residential treatment program in Peoria, AZ for adolescent males (ages 12-17) diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We provide a highly structured, therapeutic environment where young individuals receive comprehensive, integrated care through a multidisciplinary team approach. Our goal is to provide a calm, structured and supportive environment for individuals to access necessary treatment, learn new skills and reduce interfering behavior.
Our therapeutic treatment program includes 24-hour medical care with support staff, psychiatry services, applied behavior analysis therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, recreational therapy, case management services and tailored dietary services.
Responsibilities:
- Provides direct services to patients in a therapeutic and safe manner.
- Participate in the treatment process by providing meaningful input.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living; attends to patient behavioral problems and aids in crisis intervention, as needed.
- Provides and organizes social-recreational activities.
- Attends and participates in service training sessions and related training opportunities.
- Accurately chart patient observations in comliance with policies
- Conducts intakes for new patients as well as discharges.
- Promote a supportive and respectful treatment environment.
Qualifications:
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certificate of completion of BHT program
- Experience working with adolescents or individuals with developmental disabilities
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Must pass background check
- Must be reliable, calm, and work well under pressure
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Shifts: 8 hours with alternating weekends. PRN and Night shifts available as well.
