Childcare Assistant Director (Part-Time)
Sonoma County Family YMCA | Santa Rosa, CA | Sebastopol, CA | $18.40-$26.00 per hour

The Sonoma County Family YMCA is seeking a Childcare Assistant Director to help lead our school-age childcare program and support children as they develop socially, emotionally, physically, and academically.

As the Childcare Assistant Director, you'll work closely with the Site Director to ensure a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for children.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily leadership and operation of the childcare program
- Supervise the program in the Director's absence
- Plan and lead fun, creative, age-appropriate activities
- Support children's academic success through homework help and enrichment opportunities
- Create engaging monthly themes and special events
- Assist with attendance, enrollment, and administrative duties
- Provide leadership and support to program staff
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and team members
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all participants
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming program environment
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Minimum six months of experience working with children in a classroom, childcare, camp, or similar setting
- Ability to lead activities, supervise children, and work collaboratively as part of a team
- Successful DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearance, including sex offender screening
Preferred Qualifications
- 12 or more college units in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Physical Education, or related Social Science coursework
- Previous experience in youth development, after-school programs, recreation, or childcare leadership
