We seek an enthusiastic, nurturing, and skilled educator to serve as a Second Grade Lead Teacher during a paternity leave. The ideal candidate loves working with young children, understands their developmental needs, and values the unique contributions of every student in the classroom community.

Requirements / Qualifications

Qualifications: - Minimum of three years of elementary teaching experience, preferably in early elementary grades - B.A. or B.S. degree with significant coursework in mathematics, reading, and writing - Advanced degree in education strongly preferred - Experience teaching foundational literacy and numeracy skills How to Apply: Please do not call the school. The Second Grade Lead Teacher will provide instruction across core subject areas, with particular emphasis on: - Foundational literacy (reading comprehension, writing development, spelling, and grammar) - Mathematics instruction, including conceptual understanding, problem-solving, and skill development Candidates should be strong writers and effective communicators who can model clear thinking and language for students. The successful teacher will design and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons that support a wide range of learners through multiple instructional strategies and learning modalities. Assessing student progress, differentiating instruction within the classroom, and applying current best practices in elementary education are essential. Creating a warm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that supports both academic growth and social-emotional development is central to this role. Collaboration and Community Strong communication with parents, students, and colleagues is critical. The Second Grade Lead Teacher will collaborate closely with a dedicated associate teacher and specialists to ensure continuity of instruction and care during the leave period.
