SONOMA CHARTER SCHOOL CLASSIFIED POSITION JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: Student Supervisor DEFINITION Under the general supervision of the Sonoma Charter School Director, the Student Supervisor works to monitor the school campus (inside classrooms and surrounding areas) to support a safe/secure environment and promote a positive school-wide student culture reflected in attendance, classroom performance, and peer relationships. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Under the supervision of the School Director, the Student Supervisor… • Observes, reports and intervenes, when appropriate as follows: any safety problems, violation of school rules, and any activity considered to work against school culture. • Monitors school campus to ensure a safe and secure environment as leader Cluster of designated Cluster Supervision Teams. • Assist in coordinating behavior intervention trainings/orientations to students, staff, and parents. • Conferences with students and teachers related to academic and social behavior. • Coordinate and supervise behavior intervention groups including student detention classes. • Mediates student conflicts as appropriate emphasizing techniques of conflict resolution and restorative justice. • Communicates with parents regarding patterns of concern to parents related to attendance, academic performance, and behavior. • Assist in maintaining intervention case notes in school database system. • Performs other related work as required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE OF: • Conflict resolution techniques • Behavioral patterns of adolescents • Adolescent development ABILITY TO: • Provide leadership to young people to help students develop a positive self-image • Understand a carry out written and verbal instructions • Identify various illegal substances and recognize symptoms of drug or alcohol abuse • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those studen
