Team Lead - Day Shift (6a-6p)

Position: Team Leader I

Location: Hartselle, AL

Shift: Days (6a-6p) 2-2-3 schedule

Pay Rate: $28.23 - 29.22

While reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading and working hands on along with the production team. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You must have a safety-first mindset with the ability to work within various teams, along with a good eye to spot defects in the work performed. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Leading a Team of employees using multiple manufacturing line
• Collaborating closely with other departments and teams
• Making incremental process adjustments, monitor and report quality of manufactured product
• Consistently providing expected deliverables and required administrative tasks
• Driving and inspiring team to improve performance to meet and exceed goals
• Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organized work area, Familiarity with 5S a plus.
• Performing all duties as designated by plant manager and in support of Sonoco’s quality and safety policies
• Assisting other departments as needed
  
  

Requirements

• 5 years prior manufacturing experience preferred.
• Must have Forklift experience
• Shipping & Receiving experience preferred
• Must have core manufacturing experience.
• Previous leadership experience in manufacturing/warehouse/shipping leading a crew/ team required.
• Ability to lead by example and hold reports accountable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to do basic production-related computations.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously is desired.
• Ability to demonstrate integrity in relation to safety, quality, and customer service.
• Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions and specification sheets.
• Possess a mechanical aptitude
• Possess an understanding of continuous improvement methodology and experience with continuous improvement tools
• Demonstrate the ability to identify opportunities and lead improvements
• Must have knowledge of computer-based programs – Word, Excel, Power Point
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
