Parts Counter Sales Associate
Overview
The Parts Counter Sales Associate is responsible for delivering accurate and timely parts support to both internal service technicians and external walk-in customers. This role is critical to maintaining operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, and high Customer satisfaction across our parts and warehouse departments.
General Responsibilities and Tasks/Duties
Customer Service & Sales Support
- Assist walk-in Customers with identifying and ordering the correct parts
- Ensure all invoices are accurate and handle returns and credits professionally
- Lead by example at the counter and support fellow team members with a positive, team-first approach
- Perform daily store opening and closing procedures
- Provide exceptional service on every Customer interaction
Inventory & Warehouse Operations
- Check in new stock, ensure proper posting, and put items away accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized retail floor and warehouse environment
- Help to maintain orderly storage and easy access
- Restock shelves and bins daily, ensuring parts availability
Delivery & Inventory Coordination
- Coordinate with delivery drivers to ensure prompt and complete order fulfillment
- Process core returns and manage defective part credits efficiently
- Support and perform regular inventory cycle counts
- Learn and assist in the assembly of hydraulic hose fittings as needed
Flexibility & Special Assignments
- Adapt to changing priorities and assist with additional tasks as assigned
- Take ownership of special assignments from the manager and ensure timely completion
- Support team needs during peak demand or staffing shortages
Expectations/Successes
The Parts Counter Sales Associate is expected to maintain a strong attention to detail, uphold our high service standards, and work collaboratively across departments. Qualifications
- 2 years’ experience in parts sales (automotive, truck, or heavy equipment preferred)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Dependable, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Computer proficiency and accuracy with paperwork
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80 lbs. occasionally
- Valid driver's license with a clean DMV record
- Must be available for Monday–Friday schedule and alternating Saturday half-days
- Pre-employment requirements include a clean background check, DMV record, drug screening, and direct deposit enrollment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
