Sonny Brooke Stables is looking for dependable, experienced Barn Staff to join our team.
We are seeking individuals with hands-on horse experience who are confident managing daily barn responsibilities with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, efficient, observant, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and professional barn environment.
This is a hands-on position that requires reliability, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. Dependability is extremely important to our team.
Responsibilities
- Feed horses and refresh water throughout the day
- Safely turn horses in and out
- Clean stalls, paddocks, aisles, and other barn areas
- Monitor horses for changes in health, soundness, behavior, or overall condition
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe barn environment
- Assist with general farm and barn tasks as needed
- Follow established barn procedures and safety protocols
- Communicate any concerns regarding horses or the facility promptly
Ideal Candidate
- Has at least 1 year of hands-on equine experience (REQUIRED)
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Is confident handling horses of various sizes and temperaments
- Can safely and efficiently complete barn tasks independently
- Is reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Is observant and detail-oriented
- Takes pride in keeping the barn clean and organized
- Has a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Is comfortable working around horses in a professional barn setting
- Is physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Is comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions
Schedule:
We currently have the following positions available:
- 1 Part-Time Position — Weekends Only
- 3 Part-Time Positions — Weekdays
- 1 Full-Time Position — Tuesday–Saturday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Morning, afternoon, and weekend availability may be needed depending on the position.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Minimum 1 year of equine experience required
- Ability to confidently and safely handle horses
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance are expected
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
