Culinary Aide - Part Time - Senior Living

Sonnet Hill Senior Living, located in San Jose, CA, is seeking a friendly, reliable, and service‑oriented Culinary Aide to support our dining team and help provide an extraordinary dining experience for the residents in our community.

Responsibilities of the Cook

• Support both front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house dining operations as assigned.
• Assist with meal preparation, including basic food prep, plating, and ensuring meals meet quality and presentation standards.
• Provide dining room service, including serving meals, clearing tables, cleaning, and assisting residents with food selection and table service.
• Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organization, and adherence to sanitation standards.
• Deliver room service trays as needed.
• Assist with special events for marketing, activities, and community celebrations.
• Follow menu programs or approved substitute menus when assisting with food prep.
• Adhere to proper food handling, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
• Ensure residents are treated with privacy, respect, and dignity at all times.
• Follow standard precautions and infection control procedures.
• Complete all state‑required training upon hire and annually.

 Required Experience:

• Possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in the English language.
• State Criminal Background Check and LIC 508 Criminal Record Statement.
• LIC 503 Health Screening Report.
• Prior experience in food service, dining, or kitchen support is preferred.

Job Type:

• Part Time — Thursday to Monday, 3:00pm–6:00pm
