What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food & Beverage Support position at Sonnenalp Properties?
The Sonnenalp is currently hiring Harvest Support team members to assist our culinary and operations teams during the Summer season. This role plays an important part in supporting daily food production, organization, and seasonal preparations in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
This position will be posted through April 30 or until the position is filled.
Wage: $13.00 /hour, plus tips
Typical Schedule: Seasonal from April through October. Required to work evenings, holidays and weekends, sometimes in excess of 40 hours per week.
Primary Purpose of Position
Support staff are to assist the servers in achieving guest satisfaction, making certain that all guests needs are met. Support staff will assist in running food, clearing plates, maintaining tables, and resetting tables. All staff members are expected to continually increase their knowledge of food, wine, liquor, and product knowledge. Support staff are required to keep all work areas and the dining room neat and clean at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the server staff with dining room preparation.
- Creating and building strong relationships with guests, staff, and management.
- Complete all side work, polish and prepare resets.
- Assist Host with greeting and seating guests.
- During Service Assistant Servers must maintain a clean, organized dining room and prep area.
- Our staff should be constantly scanning the dining room for work that needs to be done.
- Assistant servers must refill water, run food, and clear all courses as necessary.
- Commit to continual visual inspections of the restaurant (including facility, equipment, and cleanliness).
- It is essential that this person can effectively communicate with all other staff members.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
- At least one year of bussing experience in an up-scale restaurant preferred
- Basic knowledge of fine dining table set up helpful
- Personable disposition which is maintained in pressure situations required
Typical Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to stand for the duration of the shift
- Work in a face paced environment
- Able to perform various activities such as constant standing, walking, frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting
