What are the responsibilities and job description for the Client Relations Specialist position at Sonitrol | Pacific West Security | Silicon Valley & Utah?
About Us
For over 60 years, Sonitrol has been one of North America’s most trusted names in verified electronic security — protecting businesses and schools with a combination of cutting-edge technology and real human expertise. We don’t just sell security; we build lasting partnerships with our clients. Our team is the reason clients stay with us for decades.
Why This Role?
This isn’t a call center job or a desk-bound position. As a Client Relations Specialist, you’ll be out in the field — the face of Sonitrol — building genuine relationships with business owners and decision-makers across San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. If you thrive on variety, love solving problems, and want a role where your work actually makes a difference, this is it.
What You’ll Do
• Be the primary point of contact for an established client base, visiting accounts regularly and building trusted, long-term relationships
• Resolve service issues and complex concerns with confidence and professionalism
• Identify client needs and match them with the right products and solutions — including upsell and cross-sell opportunities
• Demonstrate products and deliver hands-on training so clients get maximum value from their systems
• Onboard new clients smoothly and support existing ones with ongoing education
• Maintain accurate account records and communicate effectively with internal teams to ensure seamless service
• Escalate issues quickly and advocate for clients internally when needed
What We’re Looking For
• Strong communicator — confident in person, over the phone, and in writing
• Organized self-starter who can manage a varied schedule and prioritize independently
• Customer-first mindset with a genuine desire to help people
• Comfortable learning new technology and database systems
• Reliable, punctual, and professional
• Prior customer service or account management experience is a plus
• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle required — mileage reimbursement provided
• Must reside within approximately 25 miles of San Jose
Please note: This is a fully on-site, field-based position. Remote work is not available.
What You’ll Get
• Competitive compensation
• Mileage reimbursement for all client travel
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance options
• 401(k) retirement plan
• Paid holidays and vacation time
• A supportive team environment with room to grow
• The stability of joining a company with 60 years in business
A Note on Growth
Sonitrol of Silicon Valley promotes from within and invests in its people. This role is a strong foundation for a longer career in account management, sales, or operations — and we’re looking for someone who wants to build something here, not just fill a seat.
