Wage: $20 - $22/hour

Objective:

Responsible for directing the overall operation of environmental services which typically includes maintaining the grounds, building, and equipment, the laundry program, and housekeeping in an extended care facility. Assists in developing and administers departmental policies, procedures, and budgets.

Housekeeping Supervisor Responsibilities include:

• Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like
  environment for Residents.
• Monitors inventory of chemicals, supplies and equipment needed for laundry and housekeeping tasks.
• Communicates chemical, supply and equipment needs to Executive Director.
• Maintains required records; notifies the Maintenance Director on observed maintenance issues and/or repairs needed.
• Implements cleaning schedules of Residents’ apartments, laundry, kitchen and common areas to assure completion of
  housekeeping tasks.
• Performs housekeeping tasks, as assigned.
• Provides laundry services as needed and/or directed.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control procedures.
• Observes problems, concerns and issues observed with Resident apartments, the Community and the grounds and
  communicates them appropriately.
• Trains Community Team Members on the systems, equipment use, housekeeping and cleaning standards toinclude
  chemical usage.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED
• Meet continuing education requirements and certifications on job classification and position, including state
  requirements.
• 3-5 years of experience working in housekeeping, in senior housing preferred
• 2-4 years of supervisory experience

Skill/ knowledge requirements:

• Working knowledge of equipment, supplies and chemicals used for housekeeping and laundry tasks. Experience in working in a licensed care setting preferred.
• Ability to communicate and work with all levels of the Company’s management staff and Community Department Managers and Community Team Members effectively.
• Maintains acceptable attendance record/follows work schedule.
• Organizes and utilizes time appropriately toward accomplishing assigned tasks; requires minimal supervision.
• Displays cleanliness, good grooming, and personal appearance and follows dress requirements.
• Displays ability/willingness to learn new skills and to teach others.
