Duties
- Greet customers warmly and take accurate orders using POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS.
- Handle cash transactions efficiently, ensuring proper cash handling and register accuracy.
- Assist in food preparation, including basic food handling, cooking, and assembling menu items according to safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, including food prep stations, dining spaces, and kitchen equipment.
- Support upselling efforts by recommending menu items and specials to boost sales and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Help with food delivery from kitchen to customers’ tables or counters, ensuring timely service.
- Perform bussing duties by clearing tables and maintaining a tidy dining environment for guests.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, quick service restaurants, or retail environments is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus; willingness to learn is essential.
- Strong customer service skills with an approachable attitude and good communication abilities.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, sales transactions, and retail math calculations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced restaurant or café setting.
- Familiarity with food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures.
- Kitchen experience or culinary background is advantageous but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is key.
