The Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity and excellence of our manufacturing processes. This individual is responsible for the rigorous inspection of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure strict adherence to engineering drawings, internal specifications, and ISO quality standards. Utilizing advanced metrology tools and a keen eye for detail, the Inspector validates product conformance, documents results, and manages the disposition of materials to maintain high-quality throughput.
Beyond technical inspection, this role is highly collaborative and multi-functional. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between production and engineering by assisting in the development of inspection plans and supporting diverse shop-floor activities—from cable assembly and kitting to document control. Responsibilities
Perform inspections of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products in accordance with engineering drawings, inspection plans, source control documentation, and specifications using standard measuring tools.
· Verify conformance of in-house and purchased finished work to specifications using standard measuring tools.
· Document inspection results by completing designated forms and entering data into computerized databases.
· Approve acceptable materials and move them into the appropriate manufacturing process.
· Reject unacceptable materials and coordinates with suppliers and engineering as necessary.
· Assist engineers in developing and improving inspection plans.
· Maintain quality standards by accurately recording inspection results and ensuring compliance with specifications.
· Maintain inspection equipment in proper working conditions, including cleaning, performing functional checks, and verifying current calibration status prior to use.
· Promote process improvement initiatives within the inspection function.
· Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
· Follow all safety guidelines, including proper use of safety equipment and adherence to safety procedures.
· Work independently from verbal and/or written instructions.
Other Duties
· Support production activities, including building cables, masking, sandblasting, and other related tasks as needed.
· Build accessory component kits by pulling parts, creating labels, packaging components, and storing finished kits in designated areas.
· Support QA and Document Control activities, including scanning and filing as needed.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience
- High school diploma required; trade school certification, Associate, or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· Minimum three years of practical work experience, in a manufacturing environment, consistent with responsibilities and duties outlined above.
· Experience working in standardized quality management system required; ISO9001 or ISO13485 a plus.
· Experience documenting, annotating, and recording data/results according to Good Documentation Practices.
· Experience in multi-functional and new product teams preferred.
· Experience working in medical device, technology development or technology manufacturing environments a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Capabilities:
- Knowledge of metrology equipment, experience using Micro-Vu a plus
- Experience with reading mechanical drawings
- Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification or other quality certifications a plus
- Functional understanding of Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
- High degree of reliability, of attention to detail, and organization
- Strong interpersonal skills and clear verbal and written communication
- Must demonstrate an ability to integrate feedback and to respond quickly to fluctuating priorities
- Ability to work independently and self-directed
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
