The Controller will oversee the full accounting function and serve as a strategic financial partner to executive leadership. This role is responsible for ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency while providing insights that support long-term growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full accounting cycle including AP, AR, billing, general ledger, inventory, treasury, and FP&A
- Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes and prepare financial statements
- Conduct monthly financial analysis and report on key performance metrics
- Coordinate annual financial statement reviews and 401(k) audits with external auditors
- Partner with external CPAs on tax compliance for a family-owned business structure
- Manage relationships with banks, lenders, and other third-party partners
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff and specialists
- Maintain and optimize ERP and financial systems
- Implement and oversee internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Oversee periodic physical inventory counts
- Manage accounting for revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), CECL, goodwill, intangibles, rebates, and COLI
- Provide executive leadership and the Board with financial insights to support strategy, cost savings, and long-term planning
Qualifications
- CPA required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 10 years of accounting experience, including 5 years in Controller or senior leadership roles
- Public accounting background strongly preferred
- Proven experience managing teams across AP, AR, billing, and general accounting
- Strong technical accounting expertise including GAAP, ASC 606, ASC 842, CECL, goodwill, and inventory accounting
- Experience with ERP systems (industry-specific systems a plus)
- Ability to align financial performance with business strategy and long-term value creation
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Compensation: $135,000 to $150,000 annually
