Payroll Analyst

Lexington, KY | Hybrid/Contract

Contract Duration: 6 months

Soni’s client is a non-profit seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Analyst to support bi-weekly payroll operations and serve as a key resource for payroll and timekeeping systems. This role focuses on accurate payroll processing, compliance, and employee support while partnering closely with People & Culture, Finance, and external vendors. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and comfortable working in a deadline-driven, confidential environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage payroll and timekeeping systems, including user access, system configurations, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination (Tenrox).
• Process bi-weekly payroll, including audits, taxes, garnishments, manual checks, and direct deposits, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Partner with People & Culture and Finance on benefits, deductions, reporting, audits, and month- and year-end close activities.
• Produce payroll and timecard reports, manage payroll inquiries through the help desk, and deliver recurring employee training.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including year-end filings and tax notices.
  
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 5 years of payroll experience.
• Strong payroll operations, compliance, and systems knowledge.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and accuracy.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and deadline management.
• Understanding of SOX-related payroll and HR audit controls.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and professional fluency in English.
  
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience with UKG Pro and Tenrox.
• Payroll accounting knowledge and fund or not-for-profit experience.
• Exposure to international payroll processing.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification a plus.
  
  
  

Compensation: $35-40 per hour Pay is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications
